Congratulations, Erin, for receiving the Walter and Marie Williams "Spirit of the East" Post-Eligibility Scholarship Award.
IN THE DUGOUT WITH SENIOR ERIN ST. LEDGER:
Question: What is your favorite thing about the sport of softball?
Answer: The intensity and how it is so much of a team sport, but at the same
time on an individual basis. It lets you play together but gives you a time
to shine as well.
Q: What would you be
doing if you did not play softball?
A: Definitely
dancing. I bet you guys didn’t know I was a dancer my entire life! Or
volleyball, that was my other forte ;)
Q: What has been the
best part of being a collegiate-athlete?
A: Being able to be a collegiate-athlete at ECU. It is such a great place
to spend your college years, and the town lives for the Pirates. We have
such great support and it is so much fun to play for people who have so much
spirit. It is also a great way to grow up and learn about yourself. I know
I’m ready for anything my boss throws at me.
Q: One word that
describes you on the field?
A: LOUD and excited!
Q: One word that
describes you off the field?
A: LOUD and excited! Haha…. A very happy person that spends much of my time
laughing.
Q: What are your
favorite hobbies outside of softball?
A: going to the beach! That’s probably one of the hardest things about
being away from home. I also enjoy volleyball, so I like to play beach
volleyball anytime I’m home.
Q: What
is the best advice you would give an incoming freshman?
A: Be patient, and stay confident in yourself. Times can get hard but
never doubt your ability to play.
Q: Who has been your
most influential role model(s) and why?
A: my dad! He has always been my biggest fan and he is such an amazing,
unselfish person.
Q: Who is your
favorite professional sports team?
A: Orioles. But I really enjoy watching any college team.
Q: Who is your
favorite singer/musical group?
A: Lil Wayne is definitely my favorite rapper. However, I like a variety of
music whether it be country or rock. Keith Urban, Pepper, Sister Hazel.
Q: What is the best
book that you have ever read?
A: Hmm… that’s a tough one. I’m starting to read The Secret, thanks to
Allegra. I’m not done yet, but so far it’s very motivating.
Q: Name one thing that
people would be surprised to learn about you.
A: I think I’m pretty open and don’t hold much back. I think people would
be more surprised if they didn’t know something about me! Haha.
Q: What is your
favorite quote/saying?
A: “The most wasted of all days is one without laughter” EE Cummings
Q:
What has been
your proudest moment?
A: Well I just found out I won the Walter and Marie Williams Scholarship.
It’s the most excited I’ve been in a long time.
Q: What are you
planning to do once you graduate?
A: Go to grad school here at ECU for sports management.
Q: What
is your favorite memory of East Carolina University?
A: I’ve had so many I really can’t just choose one. My time here at ECU
has been so memorable and I’ve gotten to play with some of the most amazing
girls each year I’ve participated. Each year brought something new, but one
thing never changed and it is the love for all the girls I play with!
