April 26, 2010

Hi guys,

It's been a while I know I'm so sorry! My parents were here last week and they stayed at my apartment with me so that means I got absolutely no work done...I had so much fun with them though! So I've been spending this last week writing all my research papers that were due this week! Can't completely blame it on my parents for keeping me occupied because I totally procrastinated, but I finished everything that's due and today was my last day of class for undergrad yay!!! only 3 more years of school now haha

Things didn't go so well this weekend as we only won one game in the Houston series, but we have this whole week of practice to get out all the kinks before southern miss comes to town for SENIOR WEEKEND!!! Everyone's families are going to be here...so it should be lots of fun filled with lots of food!! I can't believe this year is almost done! It went by so fast....I swear we were just playing Florida the other week! Hope you guys can all come out this weekend and support us!! talk to you later :)

hey guys!

So I think I am officially the worst blogger of all time! I am so sorry i haven't been keeping up with you guys! but, don't worry I'm a senior so you won't have to deal with my bad blogging skills again!

We've been doing pretty good lately! went 2-1 with Marshall and just took two from Greensboro yesterday whoop whoop! i am proud to announce that our offense has been doing a lot better these past two weeks....thank you stealth bats!!! haha

schools been pretty crazy for me lately just because i keep missing class and have to turn in all my assignments early. not to mention my parents are coming next week and i've been trying to do a majority of my work in advance so i don't have to deal with it while they are here. i'm so excited for them to come so they can cook me dinner haha that's not all....i'm really excited to see them too!

heading to ucf tomorrow and hopefully we'll be coming back with 3 w's and be in first place in conference! bring it on knights!!!

Happy Early Easter to all of you!! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!!!

hi guys!! I'm super excited because i just found out that i got into grad school at the university of Hawaii!! can u say relief!! i was a little worried when my phone rang the other night and it was a guy from uh (he called before the actual acceptance date)....i was thinking "they don't call to reject people right?" haha but now i have a summer...i can enjoy a couple more months until i have to grow up and be an "adult." which I'm not ready for! i also need to find a job when i get home, so i can save some money and look for a place to live. i'll be living at home for a while (I'm broke)...but my sister and i share a room and its gonna get a little cramped!! don't tell my mom about my idea she might start crying...gosh so many things to think about...i've been so spoiled at ECU for 4 years, Jamie making my schedule, never needing to find a job...and now back to "reality"...not yet thank goodness!!

so I'm in the hotel room in Tulsa right now...Riggs is my roommate (still sleeping) and I'm kinda bored! I'm a bit of an early riser and have been waiting for Riggs to wake up so we can go eat breakfast...I'm starving! Tulsa's supposed to get some major snow probably around 8-10 inches, which totally sucks cause now we're not sure if we can play them! I've been waiting all week....or should i say I've been waiting since last year to play them again!! first, pray that we get to play and if we don't, pray that we get out of Tulsa!! talk to you soon :)

March 15, 2010

hi guys!! finally back in Greenville. we all had so much fun on this trip. i think i last left off telling you about Sunday in Hawaii where we split (lost to uh, won to Seattle). that night we went to cheesecake factory and had a total feast. since the Hawaii parents had been preparing all our meals, we had saved some serious money so coach said we could get whatever food we wanted. we did some major damage!! we then were able to walk around Waikiki and go shopping!!

the next day we loaded all our stuff in the cars and headed to white plains beach located in Kapolei (cris, kai and marina's side of the island), where my dad was waiting with a couple of surfboards so all the girls could try surfing. rina and i first took out trainer jen and doctor curan. rina was smart to bring out a board. i on the other hand decided i would swim the entire time cause i thought it would be easier to teach jen and the doc how to surf. let me tell u, after 45 minutes of treading water i was dying!!! to make things worse the beach we were at is completely covered by reef so i couldn't touch the ground to catch my breath. towards the end i was so tired i stood on the reef and just prayed i didn't get bit by an eel! almost everyone tried surfing (coach wheel, jen, doc, percy, nicole, sissy and riggs).

we then packed up the boards and went to my house to shower and eat dinner. my mom made my favorite dinner- beef stew and poi ummm!! alll the other families made awesome food too!! sadly that was the end of our hawaii trip, but we were all still excited to go to cali where we had some huge games to play! we landed in san fran the next morning and drove three hours to fresno. we played fresno the following day and split.

the next day we drove back to San Fran and went to fisherman's wharf. i was so excited because I've never been there before. faith's parents were so sweet and bought our whole team tickets to take a boat tour of the golden gate bridge and Alcatraz. it was awesome!! while on the boat v droppped her camera battery in the water haha (sorry v) and couldn't take any pictures. after that we all went with our families (if they were there) and walked around fisherman's wharf. i never knew there were so many homeless people there. one man jumped out of a trashcan and asked me for money. scared the heck out of me. what else happened? oh yeah, cris got attacked by a flock of seagulls cause her mom (aunty deb) attempted to feed them hahahahaha. aunty deb, always trying to do the right thing! she has such a good heart!

We were supposed to play cal-berkely the next day but it got rained out so we ate lunch, had team study hall and a quick lift with coach wheel then were released to our parents. couldn't believe i had study hall! haven't had it since freshman year....i was really bored! not as bored as cris though...she was so bored she wrote a letter to coaches about how bored she was!! did i mention there was a weird convention at our hotel...people dressed in weird costumes were all over the lobby...it was pretty strange. aunty deb got some great pictures of them though :)

we finally got to play on saturday and took 2!!! we are now at 11-11. never thought i'd be proud of a .500 record but i am....go pirates!!! after the game i got to see my dad's sister and her family who live in california and I also got to see two of my really good friends from high school!! they drove 2 hours to watch rina and me play...they're some true friends :) after the games we went to cpk (california pizza kitchen) to eat dinner before heading to the airport.
there was a lot of good bye cries outside of cpk. let's just say the gusman-brown ohana (family) started the crying (aunty lisa), then everyone started crying cause they were crying. everyone's doing fine now!

being back in Greenville is bitter sweet. it's nice to sleep in my own bed and not have to travel anymore, but i'm sad to leave my family behind. it's time to get back to work though because this week conference starts with Tulsa. all i can say is pay back from last year!!!

sorry i wrote a novel...I'm not gonna lie i was a total slacker about the blog. I'm sorry!! i was having so much fun at home and in cali. promise to write again soon and not write another novel!!

bye,
kaui

Aloha from Hawaii!! hi guys sorry it's been a while since i last wrote you. so
we got into Hawaii Wednesday night and were greeted at the airport by our
amazing families. we then went to eat at Zippy's, a local Hawaiian restaurant and
a lot of the girls got chili and fried chicken plates which they all seemed to
enjoy! after that we went back to the hotel to catch up on some sleep. Thursday
was pretty eventful since we all woke up early and went to the beach. we then
practiced at Rina's papa's field and then headed to the lu'au. It was amazing
and everyone had such a good time. Teenie, v, c, Toni, Percy and sissy all went
on stage and danced the hula. they did a great job!! sissy even had a solo
performance....she was that good haha. there were a lot of good looking Hawaiian
guys at the lu'au and we were all fighting over them :) the lu'au was a great
way for all the girls to experience the various Polynesian cultures. Friday it
came down to business as we played Washington. we lost but we all made contact
on Lawry so that was a positive being that she is the best pitcher in the
nation. today we won against Seattle and lost against Hawaii, but we'll get to
play against Hawaii tomorrow so we'll get them then. talk to you soon.

Hi guys! Just finished up our home tournament. Feels sooo good to win!!! Went 4-0 this weekend. Congratulations to PERCY and KAI for each hitting a homerun, or should i say bombs!!! Percy's homerun cleared both fences!! It's finally time to go to the beautiful island of O'ahu!!! I'm so ready to get out of this cold weather and actually be able to feel the sun....maybe even get a little tanner. Pray for us as we make our long 15 hour journey to Hawaii! Can't wait to see all our families, play some softball and eat some good Hawaiian food! A lot will be going on these next two weeks but I'll be sure to keep you posted on all our activities. Thanks for all the support this weekend! Talk to you soon.

Yeah they were tough and ranked teams so what!! Lady Pirates didn't give up!! With the three times we competed against Florida we put up a fight, with a team like that( ranked #3 in the nation) most teams could have just laid down and gotten run over. But not us!! We are right there with them. Well that said is sooooo last week. It's a brand new week, and we have our first home game/ tournament here in Greenville. Get pumped!!! Get siked!!! Keep working ladies!! CUPCAKES!! LOVE MY CHICAS

Hello everyone,

Last week on Friday we had two recruits that were on their official visits. They both brought along their lovely mothers  toooo cute....They did the biggest favor for us Hawaiians missing the homestyle cooking, and brought along a care package from my parents. So Friday night we had a throw-down :) Cris, Kaui, and I as we thought of Charina :) eating poi, dry aku, squid, and opal..... HMMMMMM boy ohhh boy was I on cloud 9!!!! :) By the way Charina was MIA for a little, she was setting up for her future in Oklahoma at an interview to further her beautiful education!! Yay!! We totally missed her at home and on the field. But she finally returned on Saturday just in time for dinner with the recruits @ Olavola. I give Olavola a 8 out of 10.. Food was awesome but service could use some help! hahahahahha:) Overall dinner was great! The food put me to bed, taking me all the way til time for practice Sunday afternoon.:) Sunday we finally got a little scrimmage going... we had both Toni and Faith up and throwing, and teams 4 on 4 on 4!! It was just a taste of a game situation and our girls are looking good!!! Like it was stated " the positive out weighed the negative" :) still a lot of room to get better :) WE GOT TO KEEP ON KEEPING ON!!! :)

LOVE MY GIRLS!!

AND ALOHA TO DAD AND MOM... MISSING U!!

January 20, 2010
Hello everyone I'm back!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their three day weekend! :) For the lady Pirates this pass weekend coaches held a  two day coaches' clinic. The clinic went all the way from the basics of hitting to just our everyday warm-ups. Of course the girls were there to show off our pitching, hitting, and fielding skills. It was a really great turn out on both days, having about 100 participants each day. I say as long as each participant learned at  least one skill that they can bring back to their own teams, Pirates work is done! :) Kudos to Coaches for their full time 48 hour shift not counting the prep they had to do. :) AWESOME JOB!!!!

Today is Wednesday, yesterday we had the day off, so business starts up again a brand new week!! :)  To my ladies keep up the good work, keep working hard. luvs yal!!

January 13, 2010

Hey guys

Well this will be my last blog. Marina will be taking over. It was nice letting you guys know what was going on with the team and me.

Well right now were on day 5 of cleat camp, and I don't think we've ever felt like this. I'm sore in places I never thought I would be sore in haha, but cleat camp ends when everyone passes the two mile and the retake is Sunday. I believe so hopefully they all past.

Other than cleat camp this weather is killing me too. I hate the cold. Yesterday wasn't that bad, could go out with under armor and maybe a long sleeve so it felt good not to be covered in all those layers haha.

Well classes are going pretty good except for the teacher that talks too soft and a teacher I can't understand haha. I'm happy that I'm out of study hall yay! Other than that I would say that my first week of the second semester went pretty good J

Well I'm out. It was my pleasure blogging for you guys. Hope you come watch us play these upcoming months.

Bye bye,

Kai

January 7, 2010

Here's the first blog of the new semester!!! hehe

Omg!!!! Hey guys!!!

Well first practice today went okay, had the two mile and about a 4 hour practice. That two mile just killed us all haha, but what really killed me and some of the other Hawaiian girls was the cold. I have never experienced this type of cold weather. I could not grip the ball and the seams were so cold it would slice your finger when you threw it. Some of the girls, especially me, had a hard time breathing. I felt like I had no oxygen going to my brain or lungs, but I was so glad when we went into the batting cages J I think all of us were hehe. Well let’s see how practice goes tomorrow.

First day of classes tomorrow!!! Can’t wait to see how that goes. I’m happy that I have Ci in one of my classes and, first one tomorrow. I hope I have other people I know in my other classes that would be fun.

Well practice wore me out. I’m going to go ahead and take a shower and hit the sack. Talk to you guys next time. Bye J

January 2, 2010

Happy new year. May it bring good health and fortune.

Merry New Year everybody,

Well my New Year was great, how about all you guys? I’ve missed my family sooooooo much, it was good to have them together again, but what I’m really going to miss is all the good times 2009 had for me, let’s just hope 2010 has some more hehe J. We did the normal traditions, pop fireworks, eat too much, and make a big bond fire with all the rubbish. Stayed up till six in the morning, for some reason I just wasn’t tired, but my baby cousin, Zyrah, was out like a light. Babies are so cute when they sleep.

On another note I’m very happy because my daddy took me to get my tattoo. It’s a tribal shark with my grandpa’s middle name in it. I put it on my shoulder. The shark is my family’s Amakua. An Amakua is an animal guardian in Hawaiian. There are many different types. Some have owls, geckos, sharks, or even dogs. My Amakua is the Blue Shark. Getting it hurt a little but just the top and the top and the way bottom, but it looks really nice, my own brother was jealous hehe ;).

Well I only got a couple more days left at home ); so I got to make the best of it. I’m going to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends, and eat all the Hawaiian food I can hehe . Well I’m going to go eat with the family, catch you guys later.

Much love,

Kai

December 26, 2009

Merry Christmas everybody!!!!

How was everyone’s Christmas? Good, I hope, because I know mine was. Got to be with family I haven’t seen in a while and family I haven’t seen yet. It was so good to be home with everyone. Seeing all those presents under the tree and the faces on all my little cousins is a sight to see. I love Christmas it’s the best holiday for me.  It brings everyone together and don’t even get me started on the food hehe oh, and the presents. But I love it when everyone is just together and enjoying everyone’s company.  I had a happy Christmas, I got a new phone and got to go shopping, but most of all I got to be home with friends and family and eat my Hawaiian food =].

With all the traditions we have for Christmas it makes this time of year so much fun. One tradition we have is meeting at the same house all the time. We sing Christmas carols to get Santa to come out and pass out presents. One lucky guy of the family get’s to dress up and be Santa. It’s just so fun to see all the little kids smile and laugh when they see him come out. We always open presents on Christmas Eve. Think about your traditions and appreciate them and pass them on, they mean a lot.

Well I hope everyone’s Christmas was good and have a great New Year.

Mele kalikimaka and hauoli makahiki hou,

Kai

December 21, 2009

Yay!!!!! I’m home!!!!!

Hey everybody, well I’m home now in beautiful, 80 degree weather Hawaii, jealous aren’t you. First thing when I came home I went to go eat at Zippy’s. Omg that was the best, I think I missed the food the most hehe. I got Zippy’s famous chili, spaghetti, and fried chicken, small portions don’t worry. Then the next day I went to Loco-Moco and got a mixed plate of BBQ chicken and chicken kastu , killed that haha. Then I finally got to have some Jack in the Box for the first time in and long time. These past three days have been heaven for me =]. But don’t worry guys my daddy got me working out twice a day ); poor me.

Went to Waimea today and got pounded by the waves, but it was fun. Best moment ever, my friend asked me to tie her top again in the water, so being the nice friend that I am I did, while tying it this huge wave is coming, so I’m trying to hurry and tie it but it won’t tie. So right at the last minute I let the strings go and go under the wave and my poor friend gets pounded, and even worst four more waves like that one came after. So me and my friends are trying to get out of the way but it was hard because we were laughing so much. So my friend went through all five waves with the bottom of her top untied haha.

I just came back from watching the Avatar with my mommy, best movie I’ve seen in a long time. I love the idea of the two different worlds and the way the two characters fall in love, but one guy that I thought wouldn’t die did =( I’m going to stop there I don’t want to ruin it, but go see it, for real.)

Well it’s late and I’m a little tired, and I got an early work out tomorrow morning. Okay guys talk to you next time.

Kai

December 13, 2009

Hey guys,

Sorry it’s been crazy, with finals and things. I’ve been studying more than I’ve ever done in my life. So let me catch you up on some things. Well got 95 on my English final so I’m happy about that but what I’m even more happy about is my Psychology got a 123 out of 125 so aced that J. So that means I’m getting an A in that class, now studying for Biology that’s going to be a tough one. I’ve been studying for that one for the past 3 days, but I’m so ready to go home.

Back in Hawaii the Eddie Aikau surf meet took place for the first time in 5 years, celebrating its 25th annual meet. It hasn’t taken place for 5 years because for this tournament to happen the waves need to reach 25ft. or over. Waves got as big as 50ft. and I was really mad that I didn’t get to watch. Tried to on the internet but that didn’t go every well, to many people were in the way and it was glitchy.

We had our team Christmas dinner tonight, that was really fun. We had secret Santa, I had Charina. I got her a nice O’nell purse and a Victoria Secret collection. Cris had me she got me this cute little Hurley jacket, but I think the funniest one was Nicole’s. Teenie had Nicole, she got her a Hibbit's gift card but the funny part was that we took a picture of Ci and put it in a frame.

Well I got to get back to studying for this Bio final tomorrow, catch you guys later, and don’t worry I’ll still write when I’m home in Hawaii.

Keh den guys

Kai

December 6, 2009

Hey everybody,

Sorry it’s been a while, been pretty busy with softball and finals coming up. We just had pirate clash Thursday and skulls won ); I was a saber. When the sabers came out we were in the back of Kaui’s truck with saber flags and face paint. We were yelling and chee hooing. When the skulls came they set off some fireworks and came in yelling and screaming. My favorite event was the eating one. A saber and a skull went head to head eating or drinking something. First was a ding dongs, then pretzels, next was orange soda, I had to do that, I killed it haha =). We also had lemons, marshmallows, milky way, I finished Cris’s for her hehe, and power bars.

Went to the football game Saturday, that was fun and I stayed past the third quarter =]. It was okay at first then it became really cold and then started raining. It was a good game and now were conference champions.

Then Sunday we volunteered and ran in the 5K Dash for Cash. I was working in the back making bags and giving t-shirts, after working that I didn’t need to run that was work enough. I did like the idea running in the memory of a Iraq solder. Well guys I got to study some more for finals. Talk to you guys later.

Bye,

Kai

November 30, 2009

Happy belated Turkey Day everyone,

Well came back from Missouri last night, and I swear worst two flights I’ve ever taken. They sit me next to the weirdest people. During the first flight I’m trying to sleep and the guy next to me can’t stop moving, he’s tapping his leg acting like the plane is going to crash any minute. On my flight back the guy across from me won’t stop staring. I try smiling and saying hi he just looks and turns away slowly, yeah hi to you too. Gosh, people these days, and to make things even worst I had the seat in front of the exit row which means it doesn’t lean back so that’s very uncomfortable. Other than that the trip was enjoyable. Except for having no phone services for the whole trip =(

I got to have two Thanksgivings =] one with my grandma’s side of the family and one with my grandpa’s side of the family. At the first one I swear I ate like 4 or 5 times ;) so 4 or 5 desserts hehe. Second one I couldn’t really eat that much. Ate twice and I was stuffed more than the turkey. Got to do a little shopping even though I didn’t need it but it was good deals, only thing we went on black Friday so the mall was crazy.

Another thing I got to help my grandpa throw out decoys for duck hunting. I was thinking about going hunting but I would have to get up way too early and I don’t think I could kill the duck. While out there I saw the nation’s greatest bird, the American Bald Eagle. That was a sight to see.

Well gotta get ready for class, talk to you guys later.

Make sure to thank the people your thankful for.

See ya later,

Kai

November 23, 2009

Hey everybody,

Hope everyone’s weekend was good, mine was pretty good. The only bad thing that went wrong was that I didn’t get to go see New Moon ); but we won in football =] so that’s good.  Had a couple of unofficial visits this weekend. They were nice.

Conditioning Friday was pretty fun though. We had a half deck of cards and each card meant something. Ace was half a pole, two was one pole, three was one and a half pole four was two poles, five was three sprites, six was four sprites, seven was seven tuck jumps, eight was eight jumping jacks, nine was nine split squats, ten was ten pushups, sorry forgot what jack, queen, and king was, all I remember was that one of them were fire feet, and the joker was a pass, where we could use the joker the skip anything we wanted.

Well for Thanksgiving I’m going to Missouri to visit my dad’s side of the family, I haven’t seen them for a while so this is going to be a great visit. I have two big and delicious Thanksgiving dinners this week that I will have to run off, and for the people staying here, the coaches are having Thanksgiving at their house.

Well I have a very early flight tomorrow and need to get some sleep.

Until next time,

Kai

November 19, 2009

Hey guys,

Well just came back from a Bio review, got a big test tomorrow that I’m going to ace now haha.

Well the week has been pretty chill, but, oh my gosh, yesterday was the best party (conditioning) ever, sarcastically speaking, we had to run the stadium. Boy oh boy wasn’t that fun. It was mine and Cicely’s first time running it. We did one side and I was so happy until I saw we had to do the other side, but got through it. We started to look like track stars going up those stairs.

Anyway the weather hasn’t been all that great either. I’ve never seen weather like this, hot to cold back to hot then cold again, it’s like make up your mind. What was really funny today, went to an earlier Bio review, it was kind of sunny, just enough to be a good day, came back out pouring, called up Nicole to pick me up, like a minute after I got off the phone with her it stops raining, I was like really? Weather down here is crazy.

Well it’s getting late and I got weights and that test tomorrow so need them Z’s.

Shoots guys

Kai

November 15, 2009
Hey everybody,

Well this week has been nuts. Went to school on Thursday and it was pouring. I have never seen so much rain in my life, even after my class it was still raining. I was like omg are you serious?

Well at least Friday was better because it was Kaui’s birthday and we had a good party (conditioning), a nice long jog with Coach Koz. We planned Kaui a surprise party at Teenie’s house. A bunch of the girls took her out to dinner at Logan’s, I was craving a steak =], but when we got there it felt like everyone and there brother was there. It was about an hour wait, but we waited for awhile, and then decided to sit on the stools on the side. Our waitress took super long to sever us too, and my steak was dry ); so that kind of ruined it, but when I saw the look on Kaui’s face when we took her to Teenie’s, it was priceless, that just made my night.

We had a clinic on Saturday and those little girls were just precious. You would tell them something and they would say “like this?” they said it in the cutest voice too. Had a nice little snack too, shared my li hing gummie bears (Hawaiian candy) with the girls and the coaches. After the clinic was the best part, coaches took us to Bojangel’s and we all ate a lot. We were hungry haha. The ride home was fun too talking about home, our parents and some softball and the best part, sleep.

Well it’s getting late now, talk to you guys soon,

Kai

November 11, 2009

Hey everybody, my name is Kaiulani Clark, but everyone just calls me Kai or Kai-yootee. I am one of the two freshmen on the softball team and I’m from Ewa Beach, Hawaii. I’m here to blog about what’s going on with the ECU softball team.

Well today it seemed like everyone was in such a good mood before practice. I walked into the training room and there were smiles on everyone’s face, even Faith on the hand bike ;) hehe. While the team was waiting for coaches in the locker room I introduced some people to a new song. It’s called Hey You There by Soulja Boy. Toni and I knew it, so we were dancing and singing and Nicole and Marina were sitting there watching us and laughing at the stupid moves we were making up.

Conditioning was pretty fun. We had a kind of challenge. It was either for time or reps and you had been paired with someone to compete with the other teams. Then after that we did conditioning stations and at the fire feet station I made up a kind of move. I would move my feet really fast but my arms would go slow and my head would move all around and Coach Harrell said I looked like Tina Turner or something, Teenie, Riggs, V, and I were cracking up laughing.

Well I’m out got to go get some good grades and do some homework, bye everyone looking forward to next time.

SOFTBALL BLOG with Nicole Jordan

November 10, 2009

Hey Hey,
Well unfortunately this will be my last blog. I have enjoyed letting you guys in on a little bit of my life, and I hope you have enjoyed reading about it.

Today has been a good day so far. We got a good set of skills in today before the rain came, so that was good. I have been studying for two tests I have tomorrow. My professors seem to always like having tests on the same day so that makes me have to do twice the studying. I can handle it though. Later on Percy and I are going to go to the Rec Center to play some racquetball because I am going to need a little break from studying.

We started our team marathon Monday and everybody had to run a timed two mile and make in the time we were given.

I hope everybody has a great week!!!

Hey Hey,

I have been watching football and washing clothes all day. Oh yeah and I have been doing some studying and homework can't forget about that.  Making note cards for my Motor Development class and doing the study guide for my Spanish class has also been a part of my day. I have a test in both classes on Wednesday. I also went to the mall with one of my friends because she wanted to buy a coat. That is about all I did today.

Last week Coach Koz gave us a hitting journal for us to write in about our days that we work on hitting. We can write things about what we need to improve on and how we did that day hitting. So if we get in a hitting slump in the spring we can have something to go back to and look at. Hopefully none of us will get in a slump and have to look back at our journal.  Saturday most of us went and helped out at a softball camp in Wendell, N.C. and it was a lot of fun.

Our new softball complex has been under construction and the next two weeks the pipes are going to be put down. So that means we are not going to be able to park where we normally park for practice. I am excited about the new field and I am ready for it to be finished. Well I will get back with you guys later!!

Hey Hey,

Tonight the football team plays Virginia Tech on ESPN and I am excited. Most of us have tickets to the game so it is going to be a lot of fun. It is also going to be on TV which is going to be exciting! When we get to the stadium we are going to be given black shirts to wear because this game is going to be a black out!! I can not wait!! Our parking lot by the softball field will be used for tailgaters and stuff, so our skills got moved up a little earlier.

Yesterday before conditioning we had to tell Coach Koz what time we thought we could run a mile in. We all said a time that was a lot higher than she had in mind for us. Well she averaged our times that she thought we should be able to run the mile. She also told us that if we get our team average at or below the one she had for us then we might earn something. We all beat our times that we had set for ourselves and the team average should be good enough to earn something. So by Monday in our lockers we should have something new!!

I have to get ready for class. I will catch you guys later!!

Hey Guys!!!!

Sorry it has been a while, its been a busy busy week!! I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween and enjoyed the extra hour of sleep, I know I did. Well I didn't get to watch much college football yesterday because I took the freshmen to the mall to get the rest of their costumes. They both needed shoes and I needed a wig. I ended up getting a wig that was the mullet hair style. It was really funny and Kai helped me put it on and I rode around in the car with it on for a while with some aviator sunglasses on. Wigs really gross me out though because they look and feel so nasty to me. My hair in my wig also kept falling out too and that was really nasty. We could not stop laughing riding around Greenville, and I tried to stay serious as I was singing to my rap cd with my new hairstyle. Wearing that wig reminded why I do not have long hair because I can not stand hair touching my shoulders. So that wig did not stay on for too long before I decided that it was time for me to take it off and put my real hair back up in a ponytail.

We finished up our last team practice for the fall on Thursday and here on out we have skills. Well I have to get started on some homework and studying. I have two tests on Tuesday, so I will get back with you guys later.

Hey Guys!!!!

I have had a busy week so far. It is only Wednesday and I am already so tired. I had a test today in my Health class and Sissy is in that class with me. After every test and quiz we ask each other about the questions we were not sure about to see if we put the same answers. So if we both put the same answer for the question then it has to be right. Friday I have a in class composition in Spanish class. For the composition I have to write 15 sentences about the topic she gives us. This may sound easy but 15 sentences in Spanish is a lot and hard. Writing 5 sentences in Spanish is pushing it for me. I'm sure I will do fine on it though.

We had practice and a party (conditioning) today after practice. We also had weights this morning and Coach Wheel moved our reps up on jumping pull-ups to 3 sets of 15. That's one of the hardest things for me to do in weights besides our warm up. Our warm up wears me out before we even start lifting. I am dripping sweat by the time we are done. Our warm up consists of a four corner drill, ladder, dot drill, and agilities over cones. Then after we have done all that we start lifting. When we are done lifting we will either have a forearm circuit or a abs workout.

Tomorrow is our last day of team practice and we have a scrimmage against Pitt Community College on Friday. Well I have to get back to the books. Hope everybody has a great rest of the week.

Hey Guys!!!!

Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend!! My weekend has been somewhat relaxing but still busy. I have been studying and making note cards all weekend for a Health test. There is so much material to cover for this unit. I also have to write a paper for my Health class for extra credit, which is due on Wednesday. I also have an Exercise lab on attention due Monday. So I have been very busy doing school work this weekend.  Watching some football has been a part of my weekend as well. I am still trying to recover from weights Friday morning. Those dead lifts got the best of me! I might go to our workout room here at my apt and ride the virtual bike to help get some of the soreness and tightness out of my legs. The virtual bike is fun to ride because you have a screen in front of you showing you where you are riding and you have to steer. There is also a lot of different courses you can choose to ride. I like riding the Alpine course which is 8 miles through the mountains. When you are going up the mountain it gets harder to pedal and gives your legs a good burn and when your going down the mountain it gets a lot easier to pedal. It is fun to do because it is kind of like a video game but you are getting a good workout as well.
On Friday Teenie was back at practice, she had been sick all week. We were glad that she was back and feeling better.

Well I will get back with you guys later!!!

Hey Guys!!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend because I know I did. My little brother came to see me Saturday and when I say little I mean younger because he is a lot taller than me. It was good to see him because I have not seen him in a while. He is a senior in high school and an assistant manager at the Piggly Wiggly in Williamston. So school and work keep him busy.

I have been doing the usual softball, class, and studying. It keeps me busy, and I like to stay busy. On Monday we had a good set of skills and some good ole conditioning. We came up with a new word for conditioning and it is party. So instead of saying ah man we have conditioning today after practice. We can say YES we have a party today after practice!! It sounds more fun and exciting. Sometimes you just have to spice things up!
Some of my teammates have been sick lately. Teenie is out sick and Riggs just got back from being sick. I hope no more of us get sick. We all need to stay healthy because we already have a small team as it is. Well I have to get back to my school work so I can go to bed early because we have weights in the morning and a party after practice tomorrow!!!

Hey Guys!!!!

Hope everybody is doing good and enjoying the weekend!! I know I am. I woke up this morning feeling a little sore from weights, but I like that feeling! Since I woke up this morning I have been watching college football all day. I love football and it does not matter if it is professional football or college! I also went to the ECU football game today with my dad. We had really good seats at the game. We were sitting right behind the ECU bench, and we were like only ten rows up. But it started getting really cold towards the end of the 3rd quarter so we decided to leave.

Well the past few days I have been overwhelmed with school work. This semester has been crazy so far with school work. I do not think I have ever in my life studied and done so much school work in a semester. WOW!! I had so much due on Friday. I had a lab due on short term memory and the levels of processing in my motor learning class.  In my Spanish 4 class I had a composition due that had to be written in Spanish, I had to read a 5 page article and answer questions, and I had a group project due that involved reading a 5 page article and writing a summary about it. It was a crazy day for me but I got through it.

I will get back with you guys later!!

Hey Guys!!!!

Today was our first day back from fall break, and it was started off right with a good workout during weights this morning!! Those jumping pull-ups get me every time, but they seem to be Rina`s strength. Coach Wheel told Rina if she could do 8 pull-ups then we would have an easy circuit. Rina did 8 pull-ups with ease, and we had a easy circuit to finish up weights. As soon as weights were over, I had just enough time to run back to my apartment and get fresh for class. Every morning that we have weights my first class is a breeze. I feel good and I'm ready go because weights get me going in the morning, but after that first class it is downhill from there. The effects of weights hit me, and I start getting tired.

Unfortunately we could not get on the field today to practice because of the rain. So we did some hitting drills and worked on our bunting positioning in the locker room. Since it was raining, we did not know what kind of conditioning Coach Koz had up her sleeve for us. Just because we cannot practice outside does not mean we cannot run outside. So off to the track we went to earn our sweatpants! We had to run 8 laps around the track, and we had a break in between each lap. But there was a catch, we were split into two groups and each group had to run around the track in the time that Coach gave us. Also, everybody had to pass their groups time in order for us to get our sweatpants. Well everybody passed and we got our sweatpants. I have been waiting all fall to earn those sweatpants!!!

It's been real, but I have to go do some homework. I have a motor learning lab due Friday and some Spanish culture homework due. Oh yeah and our schedule is up for the 2010 season. So go check it out!!!

Hey Guys!

This is my first time doing a blog so let me introduce myself. My name is Nicole Jordan. I'm 21 and a senior.  This is my second semester at ECU, and I really like it here! I'm from a very very very small town called Jamesville, N.C..  My graduating class was 32, that's how small of a town I'm from.

I graduated from high school in 2006 and  went and played my first two years of college softball at Pitt Community College. After graduating from Pitt I transferred to ECU to finish up my last 2 years of softball.  So that is where I'm at in my life right now!!

Class and softball have been going on now for a while, and it is wearing me out!! We have weights 3 times a week and conditioning 3 times a week. By the time I get back to my apartment from practice I just want to eat and go to sleep (especially on days we have weights and conditioning). Lets just say that Coach Wheel and Coach Koz are good at what they do!

We have already played 6 games this fall and it looks like we are going to have a awesome team this year!! I'm already very excited for the spring!

Fall break is finally here and it is a much needed break. I'm doing some school work though so I can get ahead and stay on top of my game! I'm also doing some running so conditioning on Wednesday when we get back from break will not be so crucial!!

Well I have to go because the Colts and Titans are about to play some football and I have to watch my boy Chris Johnson run some people over!! So I will get back with you guys later!!
