The
Pirates defeated in-state rival NC State in Raleigh 5-0 in 10 innings. ECU is
now 16 and 9.
March 17, 2009
Toni Paisley named CUSA
Pitcher-of-the-Week for the third time.
March 15, 2009
ECU finishes the weekend with USM tied
for 4th place in CUSA with a 3-3 record.
March 8, 2009
ECU opened CUSA by taking
the series from Houston for the first time since 2005 with a come from behind
win in game 3.

Congratulations to the members of
the Softball Team and all of the other student athletes who were
recognized for their academic success during the half time of the basketball

Toni Paisley named CUSA
Pitcher-of-the-Week for the second time.
February 21, 2009
ECU loses a close game at the
Seminole Classic to #4 Michigan 1-0 in a true pitchers duel. Caitlin Wainright
gave up only 3 hits. Pirates were held to just one hit but had 0 errors. The Pirates then defeated FSU 2-1. They
completed the Classic with 3 wins and 1 loss.

Congratulations to ECU's Nancy
Mize, Vice Chancellor and Director of Campus Recreation and Wellness. C-USA Celebrates
National Girls and Women in Sports Day by
honoring individuals who make a difference. This year the award was
presented to Nancy Mize, a true friend of
softball and women's sports.

UPCOMING EVENTS AND SCHEDULE:
March 25 meet other Pirates
in Wilmington for a DH with UNC-W
beginning at 4.
April 15 is a Softball/Baseball
DH with NC State. Softball @ 5, Baseball
@ 6.
As you know, this means no parking at
the field, but park instead across the street at the Belk lot. And, oh yes, the carnival rides will be up
and running!
April 17- April 18 is the Great
Pirate Purple/ Gold Pigskin Pig-Out Party.
This also means that a lot of
activities will be going on along with a softball DH vs. Memphis.
*For those wishing
to take part in the pig picking, a Barbecue Drive-Thru will open at 11:00 am
next to the softball field. ($5 a plate)
April 22 is a Baseball
/ Softball DH with a UNC-G DH for softball and UNC-CH in baseball. This means no parking at the field once again. NEXT year should be better.

Stadium Update: Yes,
the NEW SOFTBALL STADIUM is on its way! AARRGGHH!!
ECU Board of Trustees unveiled
plans for new facilities including SOFTBALL. Link to WNCT-TV Video.
Terry Holland shared these conceptual
drawings with us at the Pirate Club REP meeting on February 8, 2009.
If
all goes well, the 2010 softball season will begin with a new state of the art
softball stadium. The clubhouse will
come at a later date.
